How the power transmitter works

The industry generally knows that a power transmitter is a device that converts measured power parameters (such as current, voltage, power, frequency, power factor, etc.) into DC current, DC voltage, and isolates the output analog or digital signals.

The power transmitter is a linear proportional conversion of the measured parameters (AC current, AC voltage, active power, reactive power, active energy, reactive energy, frequency, phase, power factor, DC voltage, DC current, etc.) A measuring instrument for direct current or voltage (electric energy pulse output). It is widely used in electrical measurement, automatic control and dispatching systems in the power, petroleum, coal, metallurgy, railway, municipal and other departments. The new transmitter's international standard output analog signal current value of 4 ~ 20mA two-wire loop is widely used in the process of transmitting data and controlling some actuators that are easy to accept instructions by this standard. Internationally, it has been the sole standard for current telemetry in analog signals. In a current telemetry circuit utilizing two conductors, the transmitter operating power supply and the reading device, including the sensor operating power supply and any other resistance of the transmitting conductor, are connected in series within the loop.

According to the general block diagram of the power transmitter, the working principle is analyzed. According to the technology used, all the components listed in the figure are not indispensable. The transmitter in the figure measures one voltage and one current signal. Usually, the product of the voltage and current signals is the power of the circuit under test. The power transmitter can be a power transmitter that measures one voltage, current, and corresponding power, or a voltage transmitter that measures single or multiple voltages, or a current transmitter that measures single or multiple currents.
